PKR appointed Zone to manage the specification, design and build of PKR.com, with the ambition to create the biggest
& most authoritative source of poker content on the web.



Working closely with the team at PKR, we developed a strategy and IA for a content-rich website with a wealth of community
features, providing users with strong incentives to continue playing with PKR in a promiscuous market largely driven by
short-term promotions.

The game client integration allows website content to be personalized according to the in-game activity of each individual player.
Community features allow users to track the activity of their PKR friends via an individual news-feed, which includes information
about tournaments and winnings, as well as status updates, in-site messaging , forum posts and comments posted against
individual articles.

The site is updated constantly with articles on poker strategy from some of the world’s most respected poker writers, alongside
interviews with PKR players, blogs from behind-the-scenes and daily reports from major events such as the 2009 World Series
of Poker in Las Vegas.

Rich multi-media content from PKR.tv appointed Zone is streamed via the website, allowing users to watch key hands & tables
from tournaments and events re-created using PKR’s market-leading virtual 3D environments. The visual design of the website
was created to strongly reflect PKR’s distinctive, award-winning 3D gaming environment, with custom screengrabs and animations
used throughout the site.

The site launched in June 2009, and in August, PKR passed the 3 million registered user milestone just three
years after the business launched.
